Verification: Croatian Qualifications

In Croatia, training providers are allowed to deliver STCW training courses (e.g., Basic Safety Training, Ship Security Officer, Fire Fighting, etc.), which must all comply with IMO model courses and Croatian regulations.

These providers hold authorisations from the Ministry of Infrastructure and/or Croatian Register of Shipping.

However, the actual issuing of the official STCW certificate is reserved for the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The official certificate will look like the below and can be verified via the Ministry's Portal (using the tools and saving the result in Crewdentials 🤩)

The training provider regularly issues a course completion certificate that looks like the below. This is not evidence of qualification and is not an "original certificate" as required by by Regulation I/2.

The Ministry of Infrastructure in Croatia has confirmed this (18 June 2025) and we are now checking whether the Ministry is required to issue all STCW Certificates (incl ECDIS, Bridge Resource etc), or just those listed in Table B-I/2 of the STCW Code.  The fun continues!
