Think of a Group as a place to hold or group together information or things.

A Group can be:

  • A simple group - holding crew or documents. We commonly see simple groups being used to group information together by fleet, client, role, or location.

  • A Vessel - holding information about the vessel, its documents and any associated crew or contacts

  • A Contact - holding information about a person or a company

Creating a Group

Setting up a Group is easy and can be done in 2 ways:

  • create a new Group; or
  • duplicate an existing Group. This will copy the settings (group type, data fields)

Either way, head to your Crewdentials Workspace homepage and click on Group

Creating a New Group

  • Click New group and enter the group name
  • Press Continue

The Group will created as a simple Group.  If you want it to be a Vessel or Contact head to Settings for that Group and you can change to Vessel or Contact

Duplicating a Group

  • Click on the Group you want to duplicate
  • Click the three vertical dots and select "Duplicate group setup"
